Who has time to clean up the counter top when there are warm homemade donuts to eat? One of my most favorite memories of growing up at our house in the ADKs, is waking up in the morning to the tickling-my-nose aroma of donuts frying in the kitchen. Thank you, Mom, for not only making your delicious donuts so many, MANY mornings, but for creating this ‘sweet’ memory for me.
good enough to call a milestone, and so, here I am, marking the beginning of my second year eating the ‘Paleo Way’, at the 159.8 lbs where I stand presently. Weight loss was not my only motivation to embrace this change in my diet, in fact, I felt reticent about posting a photo of me standing on a scale, not only because I am sorely in need of a pedicure(YIKES!), but because I’ve learned over the year that this weight loss is only a by-product of real change – found not only in the foods I have chosen to eat but also in the sacrifices I’ve chosen to make….so although my personality is not one prone to excessive celebration, I thought it might be right to share a photo when my ‘MINUS-30’ might be received more warmly on this first Spring day than any photo of a thermometer marking a bone-chilling winter temperature. HA!!! I still have a sense of humor…could even be better than a year ago. One can hope.
