Making soup

for dinner tonight and wondering about the many family meals that were prepared using these two kitchen relics – Grandma’s dutch oven and Mom’s wooden spoon. The soup still has to simmer, but as the aromas of thyme, leeks, and mushrooms fill the house on this December 1st evening, so, too, is my heart filled with memories…and I am blessed that both are a delight…

Not the Bread of Life,

but REALLY close!

 “What in the world?”, I thought, as I watched the mail truck ascend our long hill-of-a-driveway…well, the ‘Villa’ has arrived at the camp! THREE LOAVES!!! Laura and Phil – you two are soooo FUNNY! Thank you SOOOOOOO much! And it was so well packed and shipped, it’s STILL FRESH!!!

It will be on our dinner table TONIGHT!

“You surround me

with shouts of deliverance.” Psalm 32:7b

“Don’t be afraid of days ahead,
The ones you’ve yet to see;
Trust that I am with you now
And I will never leave;
Tell Me every sorrow,
No weight is too heavy for Me;
Tell Me, child, then listen,
And hear Me as I sing,

Songs of love and righteousness,
Songs of faithfulness and grace,
Songs of mercy fresh each morning,
Songs of blessings through the day,
Songs of strength when wrought by weakness,
Songs of hope to lift you up,
Songs to heal a weary soul,
Songs to fill your empty cup,
Songs of heart-felt, deep devotion,
Songs of all I’ve done for you,
Songs to make you weep for joy,
And songs to see you through.

Everything you’ll ever need,
For each moment of your life;
Each promise You’ve heard Me make
Stands ‘til the end of time;
Forgiveness, grace and mercy
Like a mighty river flows
There’s no greater heart for you,
And I’ll sing until you know…

Songs of love and righteousness,
Songs of faithfulness and grace,
Songs of mercy fresh each morning,
Songs of blessings through the day,
Songs of strength when wrought by weakness,
Songs to hope to lift you up,
Songs to heal a weary soul,
Songs to fill your empty cup,
Songs of heart-felt, deep devotion,
Songs of all I’ve done for you,
Songs to make you weep for joy,
And songs to see you through.”
